Job Description:/h3:
:Reports to: Controller
:Location: San Rafael Headquarters
:Hours: 30:40 hours per week. Core hours of 9am:3pm.
:Classification: Non:exempt
Primary Focus of Position:
:Perform all aspects of Payroll accounting duties including but not limited to bi:weekly payroll processing, payroll related reconciliations and tax filings. Primary contact for employees and outside agencies on payroll matters.
:HR support functions such as new employee on:boarding, benefit administration and benefit broker liaison.
:Represent, model and perpetuate a can do attitude and spirit that translates to a sense of personal responsibility and team spirit.
Payroll Responsibilities:
:Gather, verify and consult with employees on discrepancies on bi:weekly time sheets
:Calculate payroll liabilities including employee federal and state income and social security taxes, employers social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments, and overtime, garnishments, voluntary benefit deductions
:Record payroll data in ViewPoint payroll system and verify all amounts prior to releasing payroll/initiating direct deposits
:Payroll related reconciliations
:Track hourly rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information, etc.
:Respond to issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and management
:Prepare reports for Senior Management
:Prepare manual checks as requested
:Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operation by keeping information confidential
Human Resources Responsibilities:
:Coordinate all aspects of new employee on:boarding process
:Proper maintenance of employee personnel data and files
:Administer benefits administration, includes liaising with benefit broker
:Assist with recruitment and workers comp claims as needed

Special projects as requested.
:3+ years of progressive related Payroll experience
Strong/Intermediate Excel skills with demonstrated aptitude for learning new software quickly
:Ability to maintain confidentiality, use discretion and diplomacy. Professional verbal and written communication skills
:Customer service orientation, team player, flexible and accommodating, pride of work product
:Diplomatic and professional verbal and written communication skills
:Detail oriented, strong problem:solving skills, ability to prioritize workload, deadline driven
:Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, see projects through to completion
Preferred Skills:
:Bachelors degree
:Benefit Administration experience a plus
:Experience with ViewPoint by Vista, or Sage, Deltek Vision, JD Edwards software preferred
:CA Notary designation a plus
