Analysts International (AIC) is assisting a prestigious and international financial services leader to identify a talented Web Application Developer for a full-time, staff position located in San Rafael, California. TO BE CONSIDERED, CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL AND WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE FROM SAN RAFAEL. Summary This position will contribute to the design, development and testing of mission-critical applications as well as maintaining and enhancing production applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. The Web Application Developer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required. This position will also assist with the collection of business requirements (functional and technical), actively participate in projects to improve site architecture and optimize navigation. Scope of Responsibilities Interpret design requirements and concepts to produce new or enhanced application functionalities. Create well designed, reusable objects. Plan and oversee phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for assigned projects. In conjunction with the Data Analysis team, understand the benefits of complex database concepts, as well as the implications of different database designs for development projects. In conjunction with your manager, assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications. In conjunction with your manager, design and execute development plans, revising as necessary to meet project requirements. Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchasing alternatives. Communicate and collaborate with all project team members to ensure high quality and timely project delivery Document, communicate and enforce best practice coding standards, both internally and with outside vendors. Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing applications for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging. Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas. Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines. Prerequisites Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and/or five years working experience with ASP.Net (MVC 4.5), HTML 4.X, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and Visual Studio Experience applying application development technologies using Client/Server and web-enabled applications Experience using Expertise in the design, implementation, and deployment of user-centric software, with focus on usability Strong understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and web-related optimization techniques. Ability to communicate professionally with user community Experience using relational database design and management techniques. Understanding of SQL databases Desired Attributes Background C# and system programing experience desired. Experience developing and using Web Services using SOAP and REST approaches is desired Understand browser-specific compatibility issues (including mobile devices) Knowledge of the Agile/Scrum methodology. SOAP requests experience is a plus. WebForms is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint a plus.
