Stewart Cellars is a family owned brand with a new tasting room located on Washington Street in Yountville, Ca. Since 2000, Stewart Cellars has been producing limited production boutique wines with the help of consulting winemaker Paul Hobbs. The wines are crafted from both premium contracted vineyards, such as Stagecoach and Beckstoffer, and estates vineyards. We are looking for a qualified Tasting Room Manager who can help us drive sales and build upon our reputation for quality wines and customer service in our Stewart Tasting Hall and NOMAD Heritage Library.

Essential Duties:

• Lead in identifying, setting strategies, and directing the activities of the property to achieve Hospitality/DTC Business priorities: consumer acquisition, membership-conversion, profit generation, and brand positioning.
• Outreach as a Brand Ambassador to drive VIP traffic to the Tasting Room.
• Manage daily business functions, including opening and closing procedures for each business day.
• Grow Tasting Room sales by actively managing performance in the tracking and analysis of sales along with sales projections.
• Conduct wine and non-wine inventory management, month end sales reporting, and daily register batch closing.
• Reconcile and analyze daily receipts and transactions, supervise cash counting, register balancing and deposit preparation.
• Review shipping orders for accuracy, product availability, and compliance.
• Develop and maintain a consistent, reliable means of monitoring retail performance through delivery of monthly sales and referral reports.
• Maintaining housekeeping standards, maintaining accurate POS systems, and updated structure/pricing of tasting menu.

Personnel Management:

• Responsible for staff hiring, orientation, training, development, supervision, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee daily staff and all selling and operating requirements for Tasting Room.
• Preparation of schedules to ensure proper staffing and execution of all daily staff activities.
• Drive company focus and culture by encouraging a strong work ethic, adherence to policies and procedures, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Manage communications within staff to ensure understanding of and adherence to all policies including but not limited to: daily opening and closing procedures, cash handling procedures, and inventory processes procedures.
• Addresses and appraises performance, identifies development opportunities, and acts as a coach/mentor when required.
• Lead team to meet or exceed sales goals based on annual budget.
• Process quarterly evaluations.
• Develop ongoing incentive programs for sales team

• Occasionally represent the brand in the market at wine events.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably with emphasis in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• 5 years Tasting Room and/or restaurant management.

• Exceptional wine knowledge and experience with the sale of luxury wines, hospitality and events, wine club, and tasting room oversight/management.
• Knowledge of federal and state legal compliance issues related to the operation of a wine retail and tasting room.
• Requires strong PC skills (Microsoft & Google Drive)
• Extensive experience with stationary and mobile POS systems.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
