Sales Development RepresentativeAbout your team:Sales Operations is a diverse and growing team within O'Reilly Media. Our Mission is to empower the company from lead growth through opportunity development and customer onboarding. As a team, Sales Operations works cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, IT and the Executive team to drive: sales strategy, enable our account teams, optimize processes, leverage leading sales tools, and boost productivity. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced Sales Development Rep to help influence the lead process and grow the pipeline within a strong sales organization.About the job: The Sales Development Representative is primarily responsible for building the sales pipeline with prospects and contact details of learning and development professionals and technology professionals who could be potential clients of O'Reilly for subscription platform and integrated media opportunities. This person will help the Sales Managers with pre-call documentation, and assist with proposals and contract creation. The position requires strong experience with internet research, familiarity with business suite software (ie Word, Excel PowerPoint, Google Docs) and Salesforce database management and functions.This position is responsible for:Developing a strong pipeline of new accounts and prospects for our key brands in Salesforce. Research using internet tools and bots (eg Google Alerts) and other relevant industry publications to find new prospects and competitive offerings.Updating, maintaining and setting follow up tasks, and creating outbound prospecting email using Salesforce.Working with Sales Managers to create outreach emails to new and existing prospects.Performing special projects as requested from Sales Managers, these may include time sensitive projects.Attending identified industry events in order to gain an understanding of the competitive landscape, to identify new prospects, and to kick off preliminary sales conversations.Working on presentations for upcoming sales calls. Assisting Sales Managers with updating proposal template with custom offer information.Assisting Sales Managers to ensure a proactive approach to renewals and account growth discussions. About You:Candidate must possess professional communication skills and be eager to help with client outreach. Ideal candidate will have experience working in sales and/or marketing, and be able to travel as needed for prospecting purposes. Strong working knowledge of Salesforce CRM.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.Strong skills using MS Office suite, email applications, Internet searches.Demonstrated ability to research the internet for company contact information and technology events.Ability to learn new software systems.Ability to juggle conflicting priorities and maintain flexibility to allow for last minute changes.Must enjoy client outreach and relationship buildingMinimum Qualifications:Four-year college degree preferred in business, communications, or related area of study, or a combination of relevant education and experience.2+ years work experience in sales and/or marketing.Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time, including weekends and holidays.
