The Press Democrat, a division of Sonoma Media Investments, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform ongoing preventative maintenance and timely reactive repair on any mission critical equipment associated with the daily production obligations of the company. Qualified candidates must possess the knowledge and experience of mechanical, electrical, computer hardware and software, along with general building upkeep and repair.
The ability to work independently and part of team with managers and other maintenance technicians, to inspect and perform routine maintenance, repairs and cleaning of a variety of systems according to established safety procedures and regulations.
Exercises the ability to analyze a breakdown situation and either repair or advise next steps.
Participates effectively in troubleshooting and repairing production equipment and building related issues.
Understanding and the ability to trouble shoot PLCs, DC and AC motor controls and relay logic.
Collaborate with managers on daily and long range planning for production and building systems.
Responsible for the safety, appearance, and good operating conditions of the company facilities and all its working environments while performing skilled and semi-skilled work in various trades.
Possessing knowledge of computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Excel and Word.
Conducts and continues to develop company safety and IIPP plans and assists in their implementation.
Experience in Mechanical and Electrical maintenance required.
Trouble shooting of Electrical machinery using schematics.
Understand and the ability to trouble shoot PLCs, DC and AC motor controls and relay logic.
College or trade school education preferred.
Must have a valid California State Driver's License and proof of Insurance with reliable transportation.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Maintain the ability to work in backup situations and special projects that might include nights, weekends and holidays.
