This job will be part of the Electronic Industrial Solutions Group, which provides test and measurement solutions across a broad set of electronic industrial end markets, focusing on high:growth applications in the automotive and energy industries, and measurement solutions for consumer electronics, education and manufacturing, as well as semiconductor parametric testing, nano:positioning metrology and material science. The group provides electronic design and test software, instruments, and systems used in the simulation, design, validation, manufacturing, installation and optimization of electronic equipment.

Summary: The Research and Technology Business Development position focuses on developing business relationships with key universities and researchers to increase our wallet share and expand market share for the education business segment. This person is expected to develop strategy for understanding key areas of University research, helping the sales team to gain knowledge and skills in key areas, increasing our contacts and collaborations with University researchers, and, overall, increase our effectiveness at meeting the needs of the worldwide research communities in our focal areas. Also, function as a gateway to internal Keysight expertise (labs) and external research communities. Provides market intelligence to assist the ISTs, COEs, and Keysight Labs in identifying critical customer needs for roadmap and solutions development. Serves as liaison between sales, marketing, technology, and solution groups and ensures alignment on resources and strategies to create growth within the University and institute research communities. Key activities:

Research Business / Market Intelligence
:Research community awareness and knowledge to identify market trends and new opportunities to drive growth.
:Keeps abreast of competition, competitive issues, industry and technology trends, and new opportunities and products; Provides Outside in knowledge and expertise
:Provides research community insight (emerging research trends, grants, investments) and thought leader resources across Keysight groups; provides solution expertise for FEs
Strategic Program Management to Identify and sell Solutions
:Leads early researcher collaboration and engagements around new solutions and grant proposal submissions to create new opportunities
:Influences customers decision making by maintaining strong knowledge of Keysights current HW, SW, and service offerings to effectively articulate and align Keysights solution to the customers needs
:Ensures high collaboration across ISTs, COEs, Labs and the Field to drive execution of Keysights strategy and customer solutions.
Generate Leads
:Generates well qualified new leads for the sales groups
:Identifies new opportunities for Keysight products and solutions based on emerging research trends.
:Develops and maintains research communities relationships; Becomes a trusted advisor to customers while challenging their existing thinking
:Focuses on opportunities 6:18 months out (timeline depends on the research area)
Align Resources and Educate on Market Opportunities
:Fierce tenacity to expand solutions to other customers and markets/ industries
:Solutions must be scalable to other customers, the BDMs role is to ensure that the original solution is delivered and then there is leverage of the solution to other markets, industries and levels of customers : tier 3 and territory 13;
